It all depends how much you have in the way of Expenses. When you drive a truck keep in mind that you need money for Constance repairs as well as tires and don't forget the diesel fuel. You should have a expense account set aside for all those things. Then after all they are taken care of then the rest is yours for savings.

As a truck driver though you will be spending more in repairs and fuel then savings. My suggestion is to work for someone and let him worry about all the repairs and fuel cost. On top of all that what about your health care and your SS contributions. Keep that in mind as well. Good luck.

Depends on the type of trucking job.

Local drivers often get paid by the hour depending on type of truck.

From $8.00 for box truck to $25 or more for a tractor trailer depending on what's hauled

Regional drivers get paid by hour, job, or mile or a combination of the 3 it varies with the company.

Over the Road Drivers get paid by the mile. Starting drivers could get from 21 cents per mile to .28 cents per mile or more after 1st year of driving.

You really must narrow down your interest in the type of trucking job your seeking information on to get a better answer about how much do trucker get paid.

CDL driver jobs can pay up to forty five pounds per hour, depending on your level of qualification, your experience and the amount of customers you have. Some companies just give you a fixed rate but it is wise to shop around.
