Sarah Palin's makeup artist has earned over $11,000 dollars per week in recent weeks. Amy Strozzi, Palin's makeup artist, was paid $22,800 for the first two weeks of October alone, according to the records. The campaign categorized Ms. Strozzi's payment as "PERSONNEL SVC/EQUIPMENT." The payment on Oct. 10 made Ms. Strozzi the single highest-paid individual in the campaign for that two-week period. (There were more than two dozen companies that got larger payments than Ms. Strozzi). She easily beat out Mr. Scheunemann, who received $12,500 in the first half of October, and Ms. Wallace, who got $12,000. In September, Ms. Strozzi was also paid $13,200 for "communications consulting." But several individuals were paid more by the McCain campaign that month, including Mike DuHaime, the political director, who received $25,000 for "GOTV CONSULTING," and Mark Salter, one of Mr. McCain's senior advisers, who got $13,224 in salary. All told, Governor Palin's makeup artist has cost the publicly-funded (i.e., taxpayer-subsidized>) McCain campain over $35,000 in the last two months alone. Well, at least the Republican campaign's expenses for Sarah's makeup were disclosed because they accepted taxpayer funding and spending limits. Even though he voted for campaign finance reform and touted "transparency" and "change", the Obama campaign did not accept public funds, raised all its money the old-fashioned way from special interest groups and individuals, and has not disclosed the source or disposition of campaign funds. In addition, that money was there for the campaign's use. They could have bought TV time, held a town-hall meeting at a Caribbean resort, sponsored an entry in the Indianapolis 500, or whatever they thought would help their ticket win the election. They decided a make-over for the Vice Presidential candidate was the best way to use it.
Sarah Palin does not advertise her weight. Most women will not comment on how much they weigh, because it is private information that does not need to be shared with the public.
