I moved from California to Arkansas in 1994, but when I was there it was 10.00 dolars for every mile over the speed limit. brewski

I have gotten that speeding ticket before, & I do recall is cost me 102.00 but that's because I pleaded to the judge saying that I'm a student & I work full-time and he gave me a break. But I think before he lowered the bail it was 180.00. MizzCorleone

It depends on what county the ticket was issued and whether you pay the bond (the ticket/bail money) or attend court to plead. Attending court often results in a fine that is less than the amount of the bond. The ticket is not a fine, it is a Notice to Appear in court. The value attached to the ticket is not a fine, it is bail money (a bond). If you appear in court, you pay no bond, and pay whatever, if any, fine is levied. If you don't appear, or you pay the bond before the court date listed on your ticket, you forfeit your bond. If, at that point, you have not paid it, the amount goes up, and a Warrant is issued for your arrest for Failure to Appear in Court.

You can find out the bond value by dialing the telephone number on the ticket and inputting your ticket number or telling the court clerk the ticket number. Typical bond values for speeding range from $65 and up. You can also request a different court date or an extension of the time to pay.

It also depends on whether or not you are a Commercial Driver's License holder. CDL holders have higher fines and lower speeding thresholds. Commercial trucks have a maximum speed limit of 55mph, so doing 75mph in any zone will result in a huge fine and suspension of your commercial license.
