$1550 uninstalled with pad, $2025 installed with pad
$360 installed, $280 uninstalled (both of these with pad)
A room size of 15'4" x 12'0" contains 184.8 square feet. There are 9 square feet in a square yard. You would need 20.53 square yards of carpet. With a carpet cost of $12.00 a square yard, the cost would be $246.36 plus tax.
You need a price for the carpet, per square foot, to find the answer.
low cost berber (5 year warranty) includes moving furniture removing old carpet and new padding installed. The carpet being install in a basement rec room.
My father is getting older and can't get in and out of the bathtub by himself. Someone suggested getting a Bath Fitter tub, how much does installation cost?
I was thinking about buying new carpet. How much, on average, would a carpet installation cost me?
There really is no such thing as "builder grade " carpet. The closest definition would be low cost carpet. When buying carpet the general rule is the more it costs the better the carpet. The cost for installation is a bit trickier because installation prices can vary widely from area to area and also depends on what the installer will be doing ie; wood floor or concrete, a lot of seams, hiring a helper, etc. Unlike buying carpet paying more doesn't necessarily mean a better installation. So, the answer to your question in my opinion and in my area of the country would be about $9 per square yard for carpet and installation (not including padding). But at those prices I honestly wouldn't expect much.
Many companies will wave the installation fee if you buy carpet through them. If you decide to have someone else install it, you could expect to pay about $4.00 per square yard for the carpet, and another $.50 for foam installation.
When you are choosing new carpet for your home, you will also need to consider the costs for the installation of your new carpet. If you install the carpet yourself, you will also need to purchase carpet matting and tack strips as well as any tool costs associated with installation. Sometimes the matting will come with the purchase of the carpet. You will need to consider any labor costs if you hire a professional to install your carpeting. You can save money by looking for deals at your local home improvement stores that offer free or low cost installation with your carpet purchase.
Why would you want to know this? The only way to find out is to ask the carpet installation place.
Depends on which one you choose. Price per sq. ft usually includes installation but varies with the carpet.
A $25 a yard carpet = $2.77 per sq ft. 25 / 9 = 2.77
About $5 per square yard. Been doing it 45 years.
Generally speaking no. Most big box retailers offer installation for $100 or less as long as you buy carpet and pad. Unless you already have all the tools and the knowledge to install it, you are not looking at a more cost effective installation. Nearly all carpet manufactures require a carpet to be power stretched this days. This is something a DYI would most likely not be able to do. Knee kickers do not get the carpet onto the tack board well enough and tends to wrinkle.
