You just need one $0.52 cent stamp if you are mailing a letter or postcard anywhere in Canada. If you are mailing anything bigger you need to go to your local post office and get it weight and then tell you how much it is.

from en.wikipedia.org: The basic rate is currently (Nov.19/08) set at 52 cents for one standard letter (30g or less) and is regulated by a price-cap formula, linked to the inflation rate. ... recently introduced a “permanent” stamp that retains its value forever, eliminating the need to buy 1 cent stamps after a rate increase. The rates for lettermail are based on weight and size and determine whether the article falls into the aforementioned standard format, or in the oversize one.

The cost to mail a letter to Canada will depend on the origination and exact destination of the letter. It is best to check with the local post office to ensure the correct postage is placed on the letter.
