FBI agents are on the federal GS pay scale, beginning at GS-10 in their first year. After 5 years they advance to GS-13. Based on their location, they also earn locality pay, and in addition earn an additional 25% for availability pay (they work 50 hours per week)

Including locality and availability pay, GS-10 agents make approximately $60,000 and GS-13 agents over $100,000
