That depends on how many other things contribute to your overall course grade. If your entire grade is based on 4 exams, for instance, then failing one would affect 25% of your grade. If the midterm is worth less because of papers, homework, attendance, and other assignments, then it could affect only 10% or less of your grade. It also depends on how badly you fail. Failing at 50% is much better than failing at 0% (not taking it, or not knowing anything on it). At least with 50% you got some of the points, and so it makes it easier to do better later in the class and raise your grade.

You sat an exam worth 67percent of the overall mark you got 58percent in the coursework which is worth 33percent of the mark How much do you have to get in your exam to achieve an overall grade of 40?

.67x + .33(58) = 40 .67x + 19.14 = 40 .67x = 20.86 x = (20.86 / .67) x = 31.13433

If i am getting 70 percent in math right now and the final exam is worth 20 percent of my final mark then what percent do I need to get on my exam to get atleast 80 percent as my final mark?

0.8 * 70 = 56 <--- that is your mark right now. Lets say you got a 100 on the exam. 0.2 * 100 = 20 <--- add that to your current mark to get final mark. 56 + 20 = 76 So even if you got 100 on your exam, the highest mark you could get overall is 76%. Which isn't that bad compared to the kids in my class. :P Well good luck on your exam! :D

Is a C in exam results 28 percent?

It depends entirely upon the exam, but it is highly unlikely to be that low. In the course I am currently doing, the pass mark is 40%, so 28% is a fail and not a C (although only published as a pass/fail, individual percentages are given and a C would probably be something like 60%).

What is a condition in a Excel document?

A condition is something you test in order to decide on an action. A classic example is checking an exam mark to see if it is a pass or a fail. The condition is whether the exam mark is greater than or equal to the pass mark. The outcome of checking a condition is either True or False. Conditions are used for logical functions and also in Conditional Formatting. See the related questions below.

If you had 71 percent going into an exam worth 40 percent of the overall mark how much do you need on exam to maintain overall 65 percent?

Ok, so if you have a 71 going into the exam that means that your 71 accounts for 60% of your grade. Set up your equation like this:71(0.6) + x(0.4) = 65Solve for x and you have your required gradeIn this case, the grade you need to maintain a 65 is a 56.Hope this helps
