What is bad about hydroelectric energy?
Hydroelectric energy has many benefits, since it is a clean source of energy that makes use of water but does not use up the water. The problem with it is that this type of energy requires dams to be built, and the dams interfere with the natural flow of the water. It affects everything downstream from the dam and also impacts much of the river upstream from the dam.

How fast can a generator convert water into hydroelectric energy?
Hydroelectric generators do not convert water into anything. And even assuming that the question means to ask: how fast does a hydroelectric generator produce energy? the short answer to that question would be instantaneously. A hydroelectric generator produces electricity by converting the kinetic energy of moving water into electrical energy via alternating magnets which are spun by the turbine getting hit by the moving water. If the question is: How much energy is produced by a hydroelectric generator, then that answer depends on the size and efficiency of the system.

What energy source do you think people will use in the future?
Definitely, in the long run, people will have to use energy sources that are sustainable - that is, that can continue being used for millions of years, and without too much damage to the environment. This may eventually include solar energy, wind energy, hydroelectric power, fusion, and perhaps a few more.
What is the major advantage of aerobic respiration over fermentation?
Asked in Renewable Energy, Green Living
Does green electricity make more power than other methods?
No. Some forms of renewable energy (e.g. solar cells) are much less efficient than conventional energy sources. Modern coal and natural gas power plants are about as efficient as it is possible to make an energy source. Hydroelectric power plants are about the only renewable energy source with efficiency near coal and natural gas power plants.

What are the advantages of gasoline?
Gasoline is (or at least was) an abundant source of energy. Combustion of gasoline is an exothermic reaction that releases a significant amount of energy that can be harnessed. It's also cheap compared to other fuel sources, and has one of the highest energy return on investment (EROI - how much energy do you get based on how much you invest) ratings.
