According to my Chilton's Auto Repair Manual :

For a 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis :

The 5.0 liter / 302 cubic inch V8 is rated at ( 150 horsepower at 3200 RPM and 270 ft.lbs. torque at 2000 RPM )

The 5.8 liter / 351 cubic inch V8 is rated at ( 180 horsepower at 3600 RPM and 285 ft.lbs. torque at 2400 RPM )

I couldn't find one in the fuse layout page of the manual that came with my 1987 Grand Marquis. I would assume not.

Inside The Gas Tank, Will Have To Remove The Tank To Replace It. Kind Of A Difficult Job. Would Suggest a Shop For This.

NO a grill from a 87 will not fit a 91. Only a grill from 88 , 89 or a 90 will fit. They don't even look the same.


Check the Freon with a gauge. If the pressure is too high or too low then the system will not allow the compressor to run.

They might be. You will have to try them to see. Check to see if the '97 has the 16 inch wheels for the oversize calipers. If so, the '87 most likely has the 15 inch wheels. They would only fit in this case with wheel spacers, 1.25 inch, and then you will have to grind down the top of the caliper say 1/32 of an inch to fit the wheel. If both wheels are 15 inch. then a fit sounds good.


ive found the fuse box in my 1988 marquis behind the plastic under the steering wheel, at the bottom there is 2 plastic Philips screws, give them both half a turn, pop it out and there it is, but where do u find a diagram for the box at?


Telltale sign is WHITE smoke coming from the exhaust that smells like Antifreeze.
