The 1847 stamp was brown, What you probably have was cut from a special commemorative sheet issued in 1947 to celebrate the 100 anniversary of the first US stamps. It still retails for less than 50 cents,

but would be a treat for any collector who does not have one, if you do not want to keep it for yourself.

These stamps were not blue-- they were brown. You probably have a stamp cut from

a souvenir sheet issued in 1947 to commemorate the 1947 issue. These sheets which sold for

15 cents have both a 5 cents and 10 cent stamp on them. The whole sheet retails for 55 cents and the cut-out 5 center for 20 cents.

The value of a blue Ben Franklin 7 cent stamp varies greatly with the condition of the stamp. This stamp can go for as little as 30 cents and as much as several dollars.
