On a Honda Civic I would not buy under a 500 CCA battery. The more the better especially if you live in a cold climate.

Will a lower cold cranking amp on a car battery affect the idle speed rpm Mazda 2.0 sport 2007?

No. Battery cranking amperage has nothing to do with engine idling. There are a lot of potential issues from vacuum issues to ignition.

Semi truck battery?

Usually three or four of them... typically, 500 - 1000 Cold Cranking Amps... lower the CCA, the more longevity the battery typically has.

Can you use a van battery with higer amps in a car that had a battery with lower amps?

Yes, there is really no van battery or car battery. There is just an automotive battery. Installing a battery with more Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) is fine and will just provide more power in cold temperatures.

Where is the stater located on a Honda accore 1997 type?

What causes a vehicle to low idle in the cold?

at cold temperatures, the oil is like sludge, the fan belts are hard and unresponsive and the battery's cranking voltage is lower than when it's warm

Can you detect the end of the life of a car battery?

You can do a load test on a battery and compare it to the reserve capacity and cold cranking amps. If it is lower then the ratings then the battery is going bad. Keep in mind that the battery must be charged to its maximum capacity to have an accurate test. Trickle charge on 2 to 6 amps for approx. 6 hours then test battery

What is the upper and lower limit of 20?

Twenty one is the upper limit and nineteen is the lower limit of twenty.

What is the upper limit and lower limit?

write a function which computes product of all the number in a given range(from lower limit to upper limit) and returns the answer

Do cold or warm batteries work better?

cold batteries work better because wires conduct better the lower the temperature <<>> Not so, lowering the temperature of a battery will cause the batteries chemical reactions to react more slowly, so if a battery is used at a low temperature then it has less cranking power.

What is the difference between amps and cold cranking amps?

Answer 1No difference, but cold cranking amps is what is in battery to start. Answer 2Answer 1 is correct so far as amps are amps. However, the ambient temperature to which the battery is exposed greatly affects the amount of amps and rate at which current can be released. Therefore, most batteries have specifications on a decal for the cranking amps for which they are capable. The first spec ["Cranking Amps"] is at a "normal" temperature of [I think] 70 degrees F. The second spec ["Cold Cranking Amps] is at freezing [32 degrees F, or 0 degrees C].Since the battery output is lower at lower temperatures, the Cold Cranking Amps will be less than the Cranking Amps.j3hAs per the JIS specification for automotive batteries, Cold Cranking Current in Amps is tested at -18deg C and not at 0deg C. depending on the different Ah capacity, each 12V battery will have different CCA amps and durationThe battery will be brought to -18 deg C and then it will be discharged with the specified current, say 350, 400 ,450 A until the voltage on discharge drops down to the specified value. The duration in secs to reach the end voltage is noted and compared with the specified values in the spec.

What is the lowest voltage for car battery and still be good?

The lowest voltage a battery can drop to during cranking while still starting the car is 9.6v. You can tell a battery's state of charge by the voltage (12.6v is fully charged, 12.0v is low), but the way to tell if a battery is bad is to look at how the voltage changes under load. Most battery testers put a load of half the cold cranking amperage indicated on the battery and look for the voltage to drop below 9.6v, in which case the battery is determined to be bad. Another way to do it at home is to charge the battery at high amperage (can be done by revving the engine slightly and turning off electronics) and, using a voltmeter, look for the voltage to be above 15.5v. This indicates a lower amperage charge than desired and also that the battery should be replaced.
