How much do teachers make a week?

It really depends on experience and what school they are teaching (see below links from SalaryList.com for more details), it runs from over $500K to $10K or so. Those links are misleading. For accuracy in a particular school district's pay scale, consult each district's website since teacher salaries are public information.

It's really hard to figure, because teachers set their own hours after school. Some teachers work well into the evening, while others seem to manage with just a couple of hours of planning.

To try to figure it out, you could start with the fact that a typical school year is approximately 180 instructional days. A typical school day is 7 hours long... which makes the teacher's work day at least 8-9 hours long (think higher for a new teacher.) So the hours per year is somewhere between 1440 - 1620 for teaching+planning alone. That's an hourly rate of $18.50 - $20.80, if the salary is an even $30 K.

It all depends on the school district, state and whether the teachers belong to a union. Since they must (K-12) have at least a bachelors degree and state certification requirements, the lowest in all the states for beginning teachers is $50,00 per year.

Teachers don't get paid by the week, but with a yearly salary. They get one check each month and out of that check comes taxes, teacher retirement, and summer pay is taken out. Teachers are paid back their own money each month in the summer because it is taken out of their pay check if they choose. The base salary is about 32,000 a year to 53,000 a year. Salary is determined by the number of years teaching, credentials held, number of college units. Teachers are expected to attend in services and meet new credential requirements in the summer so this can also be an extra expense for the teacher. Many teachers also spend several hundred dollars a year for class supplies and are not paid for extras like back to school night or graduation.

It varies from prep to tertiary teachers..while in some countries you can earn as high as $1000 per week others its a mere $100 but usually not much
