If that is the case, then write him a check for $200 if you are just a friend, $500 if you are a close-friend, $750 if you are a relative, and if you are grandma, grandpa, or ''the rich uncle'', heck just write him a check for $1,001...and if you have the capabilities, teens seem to like cash a little better.
