By whom?

"Rich" is a relative term. Even those people in the US that are at the official federal "poverty level" might be considered rich by the standards of someone in a third-world country. There's a glurge-tastic passage that's sometimes read by church leaders that asks questions about if you had a drink of clean water today, or a roof over your head last night, or how many of your children have died of starvation (and on and on and on) and then explains that "you're rich."

The United States is VERY sparsely populated by millionaires. And those who are would surprise you. Millionaires constitute approximately 3.3% of the national population.
