How do you properly change the coolant and thermostat on a 2000 Chrysler Sebring convertible with a V6 2.5 liter MPI engine?
Usually removing the radiator drain plug or lower radiator hose. Make sure to have a drain pan large enough to hold the coolant. The thermostat is usually on the upper radiator hose, but shouldn't need replacing unless it is defective. Better yet, get yourself a Chilton service manual for the Sebring, they aren't expensive and well worth it.
I have a 2001 sebring and they tend to place the battery in the front driver fender area. You have to remove the front driver tire, then remove (pry or unscrew) the bolts that hold the fender shield in place. It's most likely there in the fender/ bumper area. chilton's guides are pretty good reference too. The battery is located in the driver side lower fender well behind the wheel well splash guard.
Bulbs are covered by the factory for Chrysler for 12 months or 12000 miles. If this 2004 does not qualify then to change the front bulb, remove the 2 screws that hold the lens in and pull the headlight housing out enough to reach behind and twist the bulb out. For the rear, open the trunk, remove all the plastic wing nuts, pull the lens out away from the body.
Hey Melissa==First remove the neg battery cable then the serpentine belt then the wiring for the altermator then the 2 bolts that hold it on. Make sure you have a schematic for the belt before you take it off. It should be on the fan shroud. If it isn't there, draw a schematic for yourself. Don't rely on memory. GoodluckJOE
