Feed him/her on demand when hungry. The general guideline for feeding a newborn is for infants 0-3 weeks: 8-10 feedings daily of 2-3 oz / 60-100 ml per feeding; for infants 1-4 months: 6-8 feedings daily of 4-5 oz / 125-150 ml per feeding.

You should check with your baby's doctor or the doctor's nurse for specific questions about your infant.

Generally speaking, a 2-day infant nurses or suckles from a bottle every 2 to 3 hours.

Gradually, an infant's total ounces per feeding increases. Depending on birth weight, current weight, age, and general condition, a newborn would drink anywhere from 1 to 3 ounces each feeding at first, but a newborn should steadily increase the amount they consume within every month.

Again, you will get more reliable answers from your own doctor who knows you and your baby, rather than relying on information you get via the internet.

I think that depend your age

ANSWER:

When it comes to knowing how much our baby can eat, only the mother can answer that. The doctor can but mother has this idea or sense how much a baby, or let call it infant first, with infant we can feed them solid baby food when they reach 3 months old, but I did my own baby when she was only a month, ( newly mother). But the right age will be 3 months old and only those small jar of baby food they can have. Then you will watch when the baby turns 6, 9 old.

Well, I don't have children of my own...but I would say a 5 day old baby should eat when they're hungry. If the baby is hungry enough to eat, then its time to eat. Please let me know if I am wrong, that's just what makes sense to me.
