According to the Gates website the 4.7 liter V8 in a 2003 Toyota 4 Runner has a timing BELT , it is an interference engine , change the belt at 90,000 miles , and it also has a water pump that is driven by the timing belt
You don't have too but it is recommended. My brother owns a garage and he always ask people if they want to replace the timing belt because you are right there at the timing belt anyway.
