THE PVC ON A 2000 and 2001 SILVERADO WITH A 5.3 LITER ENGINE IS LOCATED AT THE LEFT (DRIVERS SIDE) REAR CORNER OF THE ROCKER ARM (valve) COVER behind all the spark plug distributors. IT IS COVERED BY A VERY THICK AND STIFF HOSE THAT MAKES IT HARD TO SEE. Pull the hose off of the valve then pull the valve out. Both come off easy and don't require extra tools. ALSO I READ THAT G.M. IS RECOMMENDING THE NEW FIXED ORFICE TYPE VALVE INSTEAD OF THE FLAPPER TYPE.
It's a matter of having to cut them out with a cut-off tool, a cutting torch or a plasma cutter.
Pull the valve covers off. loosen the rocker arms with out taking them all the way off. then you can turn the rocker arms to pull the push rods out. replace push rods, and tighten rocker arms back down and put valve covers back on
They are under the rocker cover. You'll need to replace the rocker cover seal aswel if your replacing the glow plugs.
Rocker Arm problems, specifically with them falling off, are common with 2000 JGC's. You can get the code read, which will point to the cylinder that has the failed rocker arm and then remove the left or right rocker cover to inspect. The problem with the falling off rocker arms tends to be a slippage of the valve guides that leaves the valve to hang up and removes the stress from the rocker so it just falls off. Replace the heads. Replace the HEADS? Sounds drastic. How about repairing the heads?
on the 1.6l it does not have pushrods . it has an adjuster on the end of the rocker arm.
replace the hydraulic tappets in the rocker arms, valves are non adjustable.
you have to cut out the fuel cells because they are partially attached to the rocker cover gasket but that will not completely remove it you also have to remove the radiator and then the rocker cover gasket will be suspended in the air. You then have to cut the cords and the gasket will fall to the ground. And the rest is pretty simple.
You have to go to the next city and beat the team rocker hideout which is in the Game Corner.
no it does not , remove speedo and dash ,remove tanks , and go to town .
Replace the lock nuts with new ones.
