Roughly 60 in-lbs or a little less. Begin from bolts at middle/center of valve cover and work towards the ends. If you don't have an in-lb torque wrench, then use a nutdriver but tighten it with whichever hand is not your dominant one ( if you're right handed, use your left hand - less likely to ver-tighten.

Drain your oil and change your oil filter but do not refill your oil yet. undo the bolts on the valve cover that is leaking and remove the valve cover. remove the old gasket and clean the valve cover. make sure there are no cracks or anything on your valve cover, if so you may need to replace the cover. fit the new gasket on the cover and put the cover back on. now put the bolts back on the valve cover. you will want to google the torquing instructions as well as what order to put the bolts back on. if you over torque you may break your valve cover and it you put the bolts on incorrectly you may not seal your valve cover properly and will still have a leak.

ondo valve cover, bolts remove valve cover, remove old gasket from valve cover and block. clean both surfaces well. put gasket glue on one side of gasket and install on cylinder head. align valve cover than replace bolts . tighten in a cross pattern until thet are snug. don't overtighten.
Just did mine on my 300 cu in Ford 1982. Remove any parts that might be in the way, breather, gas line over the valve cover etc. Remove the bolts around the outside of the valve cover. Remove valve cover. Remove old gasket. Clean valve cover. Install new gasket and re-install cover. Replace bolts. Finger tight bolts first then tighten. If you do not have a torque wrench, carefully tighten down bolts alternating from one side to the other tightening them all down evenly. Do not overtighten, they will snap off into the head.
