With the torque converter about 11 quarts. without about 7 quarts.
dexron 111 atf
Dexron 3
Recommended Fluid is Dexron II or Dexron III ATF as per page 10-23 in the "OWNER'S MANUAL".....
It is important to use the right type of transmission fluid in a car. A 1994 Chevy Corsica take Dexron III transmission fluid.
If the differential is drained, then 6.9 quarts of Dexron IID are required. If not, then only 5.5 quarts are needed to fill the transmission.
A 2000 Oldsmobile Alero V6 requires 6.8 quarts of Dexron III fluid.
In a car, a transmission system is needed because the engine does not make enough torque to make the car move.
No, they did not. The 1988 would have had the 4T60 transmission and the 1998 would have had the 4T65-E transmission. They are related, being that they're both GM 4-speed automatics designed for a front-wheel-drive layout but they are not the same. In the 1990s the 3800 V6 the Lesabre used saw upgrades in power and torque so a heavier duty transmission was needed to handle that extra power.
what engine size and is it manual or auto?
In my case, the whole engine needed to be removed.
Warm up the engine to operating temperature and drive it for at least 5 minutes. Park on a flat surface and set the parking brake (don't skip this proceedure). Move the transmission gear selector through each gear, and back up to Park. Open the hood (engine running in Park), and check the dipstick (right side of the engine near the rear). The dipstick has a "hot" and a "cold" side. Take your readings from the "hot" side. Add Dexron III if needed. Don't overfill it. Give it sips and keep checking it.
