The starter is located near the transmission on the drivers side of the 1992 Plymouth Voyager. The starter is responsible for turning the engine over.

If they are the same transmission model, then it may be possible. The problem may be the electronics. It is best to check with a good transmission repair shop or a Chrysler/Dodge dealer.

I've had my '97 Plymouth Voyager stall going into gear (from park) when the transmission fluid was really low (down more than a quart). I've also had that same van stall when an O-ring in the distributer got bungled up, presumably from spraying the engine with a pressurized hose. Oops :) The distributor problem was very hard to diagnose.
It is screwed into the exhaust behind the engine.
The starter on a 1992 Plymouth Voyager starter looks like a round metal object. The end that you can see is mostly flat, and the part in the engine has a gear to turn the motor over.
Remove the wiring harness from your 1992 Plymouth Grand Voyager alternator. Remove the alternator belt. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new alternator.
