Any animal will bite if it feels threatened, even the most people friendly ones, if they get frightened/threatened to such an extent. However, as hamsters usually sleep during the day, when we want to play with them, when we wake them up , they do get quite angry as we are disturbing them from there sleep, so therefore are likely to bite. If your hamster is fully awake at night and you want to play with it then, it should be fine to hold and cuddle, as long as you do not frighten it. BOTH MALE AND FEMALE GUINEA PIGS BITE! The gender does not matter when it comes to being frightened/threatened etc. Yes, boys tend to be more territorial, but that still doesn't mean girls won't bite if they feel fit to do so. Guinea pigs don't tend to bite as much as hamsters because we play with them when we are awake and so are they. In fact, your guinea pig should be quite happy to see and play with you, so will only bite if scared. If you have two boys, you may have to be careful when taking food away from them. They are more territorial and so in the wild will often fight each other for food. Females do fight if not neutered due to the many hormones running through there body as they mature so be cautious when putting your hand in the cage. Both problems with male and female guinea pigs can be solved by neutering. QUICK ANSWER------ NO, HAMSTERS BITE MORE THAN GUINEA PIGS, but take caution with any animal. Hope this helps

Blinking .......We blink, but so do guinea pigs, just not as much as us. They blink when they need too.

Like when they have something in their eye. Or stare at you for a while for no odd reason, they blink when they stare at you, or when they sleep, they have their eyes open, but yes they eventually close them, you just don't see it.

Well the guinea pig will use it for self defense nor cause he doesn't like the child or adult mainly the first day he/she gets them. If you treat the pet with harmful actions, it will most likely bite you for the reason to stay away or out of its territory (cage).

Why does your guinea pit bite his hands?

A guinea pig does not bite it owns hands. Like other animals it cleans itself. You can see this in healthy guinea pigs. Young guinea pigs, who has been taken from their mother too soon, does not always learn how to clean themselves. Overweight guinea pigs can have a problem doing it, as well as those with very long nails. Some guinea pigs also keep their nails short white cleansing, by biting their nails.
