∙ 10y agoA good general rule of thumb is to ensure that your lawn gets about 1 inch of water per week. In a hotter week you may consider doing more. If you are in a dry/hot climate and want to water your lawn, water before the sun comes up no more than a few times a week.

∙ 11y agoThe morning is the best time to water your lawn. Watering your lawn at night can cause mold growth. Watering it in the middle of a sunny day is not good either, because it can allow the water to get heated up as it comes in contact with the grass and the roots. Also more of the water will evaporate.
You only need to water your lawn with a couple of inches a week. Let your grass grow to about three inches in the summer and you will have a healthy green lawn.
