You must be over 25, If you are younger than 25, you are not allowed to be on the minute to win it.
The rules are simple - answer 15 multiple-choice (A, B, C, D) questions of increasing difficulty, and win the top prize of $1,000,000. 3 'lifelines' - Ask the Audience (uses percentages to show the contestant what choice the audience members typed in on their keypads - e.g A:3%, B: 2%, C: 95%, D: 0%), Ask the Expert (where an 'expert' such as Ken Jennings is brough in to assist the contestant with the question - no time limit is enforced), and Double Dip (in which the contestant has 2 chances to answer the question, but must answer both times*). He/she may 'walk away' with their current winnings. Incorrectly answering the question results in him/her walking away with the last guarentee level - either $0, $5,000, or $25,000. The levels are as follows:
$500
$1,000
$2,000
$3,000
$5,000
$7,500
$10,000
$12,500
$15,000
$25,000
$50,000
$100,000
$250,000
$500,000
$1,000,000
There are time limits for each question: 15 seconds for questions 1-5, 30 seconds for questions 6-10, and 45 seconds for questions 11-14. On the final question, all unused time from previous questions are 'banked' and used here; 45 seconds are also added. For example, if a contestant answers with 5 seconds left on the clock on all 14 questions, he/she will have 70+45=115 seconds, which is 1 minute 55 seconds. However, usually 3 minutes and 45 seconds or so are banked, so the contestant usually has 4 or 5 minutes to think about the last question.
