At age 16. If your child decides to stand fast and not budge then you can phone the police and have them escorted from your home. Also, you can get a "cease and desist order" against them if they keep coming home and bothering you or phoning you and bothering you.

I am sorry to hear it has come to this, but you're right. When children of 16 think they have all the answers it's best to put them out in the real world to see reality. I know this is extremely hard on you and even if angry, you will worry about your child, but in most cases, once they have had a taste of the real world they usually come home with their tail between their legs and realize just how good they did have it at home.

Your teenager is probably just normal; rude, moody, knows the answers to every frequented question in the world, and it's basically "flexing their wings." Time for them to leave the nest, get a good look and perhaps fly back to the nest one more time, but with a renewed respect towards their parent(s).

At any point of the age of 18, they are entitled to ask their children/child to leave home. If their child wishes to stay home, then they decide as a family what is best. However, a child can stay at home for their life if their parents wish to do so.

In Nebraska it is 19 instead of 18.

There is no legal limit as far as I know, just make sure it's not completely irresponsible and you should be OK.
