Our St Bernard is 18 years young and still going strong! Sheba has a little back hip trouble but still has all her other faculties. She is as loving and sweet as she was when we brought her home at 8weeks. Our vet believes she is the oldest living St. Bernard on record ever! Her best friend and fellow St. Bernard Vashti lived to be 14 before her health failed.

14 on 02/19/23. Hip dysplasia, but responded miraculously to diffused laser therapy with very slight difficulty getting up and walking now. Maybe realizes or appreciates this because he will not leave my side and insists on lying by my feet now. Sometimes barks if I'm not visible to him while I'm still in the house

I was wondering the same thing. I have a very healthy and active 14 year old St Bernard. I was shocked to learn that the life expectancy is only 8 years.
