I was about to assume this was a typo and the question is really about the heater core ... But decided they might be asking about the block heater cord(??)

Drain the water from your 1988 Chevy cooling system. Remove the heater core water supply hoses. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. The heater core will come out.

First remove the right front speaker and cover then remove the top bolts in the heater box and the remove the heater hoses out front in the spare tire compartment. Then remove the two straps holding the heater core in place. Reverse order for installation.

recheck where you were at to replace the heater core,might have accidentally un plugged something.also look into blown fuses . good luck
