∙ 13y agoKeep milk on the shelf. It is best to keep the most perishable items on the shelf, including eggs even if there are egg trays built into your door. Items in the door are exposed to the room temperature much more than the rest of the fridge because the door swings out into the room. Storage in the door is more appropriate for things like condiments, ketchup, jam, soy sauce, etc. You can also keep soda and sugary drinks and of course water in the door. I do keep butter in the door if it hasn't been opened yet.
