I am having a abdominal hysterectomy on the 22 August and am due to fly on the 7 September, will I be okay to fly if I take all the necessary precautions?
This will depend on type of hysterectomy you are having. Laproscopic recovery times are much quicker than abdominal BUT you should ask your surgeon and doctor as you may need a certificate of fitness to travel for the airline. GOOD LUCK

∙ 10y agoThis will depend on the individual and their healing time. You should be advised by your doctor/surgeon and check with the airline if they need a 'fit to fly' certificate. You certainlly won't feel like flying for at least two weeks and longer if an abdominal.

∙ 10y agoThis depends on your recovery and the type of hysterectomy you had. Recovery time from a laproscopic surgery is quicker than abdominal. Certainly you will not feel like doing anything for the first couple of weeks. You should take medical advice and remember you may have to provide the airline with a "fitness to fly" and your insurance may not cover you if you fly too early. Please verify all of this information with your attending doctor.
