The Old Testament does not have any Gospels (Good News) as there was not much in the way of good news such as in the New Testament and the Good News that the world now has a Savior, Jesus Christ.
The Good News Bible, now called The Good News Translation, has 73 books in it with 46 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. See link below:
There are no "Gospels" in the Old Testament. The Gospel is the Good news that the long awaited Messiah, Jesus Christ, has come into the world to save sinners. And this He did when he died on the cross of Calvary, was buried, and then was resurrected the third day after. This is the Good News or Gospel. God has provided a way for you to have eternal life.
The four Gospels (meaning "good news"), were written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, in the beginning of the New Testament(or the Greek Scriptures), providing an historical account of the life of Jesus.
It is found in the new Testament.
This story is in the new testament. In fact it is a parable told by Jesus.
In John 5:39, Jesus said, "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." According to Jesus, the Old Testament (which was the only available "Bible" in His day) testifies of Him. Thus, it behooves a student of Jesus to study the Old Testament to see what the "first mentions," prophetic utterances, etc. about Him are.
The Old Testament.
Good News Bad News (and old News, which is actually History).
I believe it means messenger and is from the old testament of the bible. can anyone confirm? wrong, it means a person who brings good news not all wrong - it derives from the message that Archangel Gabriel brought to Maria, telling her she was pregnant: "I am Gabriel, ..., sent by God to speak to you and tell you the GOOD MESSAGE .." (not quoted word by word, but the source indeed is the Old Testament)
Abraham is first mentioned in the Old Testament.
My favorite chapter Proverbs in the Old Testament.
