You're not going to like this, but the most humane thing to do is terminate the rabbit's life. You can't afford to take him to the vet, and any self-respecting vet would not subject the rabbit to such pain. The rabbit has no quality of life at this point, and the most responsible thing to do is end its suffering.

A rabbit with a broken bone must see a vet with experience and knowledge in rabbits immediately. There's nothing you can do for the rabbit at home: it must see a vet.

Do not attempt to wrap or splint the broken area, because you could do more harm than good. Just put the rabbit in a pet carrier surrounded by towels but plenty of hay to nibble on, and get to a vet immediately.

If you don't know of a special rabbit vet, then bring the rabbit to ANY vet: it needs professional care. If you need to bring your rabbit to a normal cat/dog vet, then tell that vet to look up drug information on MediRabbit (link below). This is extremely important: vets have actually killed rabbits before, because all they know are cats/dogs and rabbits are VERY different from cats/dogs.

If you don't bring the rabbit to a vet, then the broken paw will not heal properly and the rabbit will probably be permanently disabled -- that's IF the rabbit doesn't die, which is likely, because rabbits in pain often decide to stop eating, and rabbits can't safely fast like humans can, not even for a short time: rabbits must always be eating or nibbling off-and-on all day long, or else they'll go into GI stasis, which leads to a quick and painful death unless the rabbit sees a vet immediately.

If you can't afford a vet, then bring the rabbit to an animal shelter immediately. You'll have to give the rabbit up. Next time, don't adopt a pet without having money to pay for emergency vet fees.

Take it to the vets. The vets are very specially trained people, and will know exactly what to do about it.

Hope this helps :)

This could be a sprained, twisted, or broken hind leg. Animals don't use their leg if it is broken, they limp on it. The sunken belly is caused by a hungry stomach or a digestive problem. The vet will know exactly what is wrong .
