You need also to know the resistance of the cable. First you establish what the current of the load is. Then from that you calculate the wire size. From a wire size chart you find the wire resistance. Then use the formula I (squared) x R.

Determine from the motor name plate what the FLA is. Go to the code book and find the appropriate amperage and what wire size it suggests. Knowing the wire size and amperage go to the voltage drop section and use the formula and apply it to the cable length.

When you measure voltage with a voltmeter you must break open the circuit and connect the meters test leads in series with the other circuit components?

Sounds more like you're trying to measure resistance...

When It is required to calculate average voltage and when RMS voltage?

It is usually required in electrical examinations to make calculations. Simple answer to a complicated calculation. Remember, take peak to peak voltage and multiply by .707, the result being average voltage. This is the voltage that electrical test meters read.

Why isn't 7805 voltage regulator putting out 5v Its putting out 15.6v?

There could be a number of reasons. A 7805 has three pins: Voltage in, voltage out and an earth. If the earth is not tied to the earth reference (ground) of the circuit, the output will be held close to the input voltage. If there are no suppression capacitors on the inputs and outputs, high frequency oscillation can be present and at a level where some meters will read it as a DC shift. The IC may be damaged. It has a maximum input voltage of around 35V (dependent on the specific IC). Exceeding the input voltage doesn't do the IC any good at all. The other possibility is that the output side of the IC is being fed with a voltage from another part of the circuit. Keep taking the meter readings with the IC in circuit and out of circuit and one of these errors is likely to show up.

If you're installing a circuit that will contain receptacles in an industrial area and the first receptacle is more than 50 feet (15.24 meters) from the load center you should?

Connect the circuit to the appropriate size circuit breaker to meet the required amperage of the circuit. Turn the breaker on and use the circuit. Unless the circuit is of a very high ampacity, plus 200 amps, don't worry about voltage drop over 50 feet.

What is the maximum length for twisted pair cable used in telephone circuit?

300 feet Answer I believe it is many miles, when used in a teleplone circuit. They use a large battery voltage for voice over the line. 100 meters if used in an ethernet environment.

This is an invalid conversion: square meters is a measure of area and meters is a measure of length or distance.

Why do you put the meters in the high voltage side in the short circuit test?

in the short circuit test we applied supply voltage on L.V side and short circuit the H.V side and connect the ammeter in H.V circuit to measure the short circuit current. with the help of s.c test we measure the copper losses in the transformers.
