Since I don't know how to re-direct the answer to your post, Please see the answer to the question: "Do you need to drop the transfer case to change oil pan gasket on a 93 Chevy Silverado K1500 4x4 with 5.7L?" I had to change the oil pan on my 94 Cheyenne K2500, 5.7L 4x4 yesterday.
--------------- 1/15/09 ----------- You have 2 choices, either lower the front axle assembly a few inches, or remove the motor mount bolts and raise the motor a few inches. Take off the distibutor cap or it will crush against the firewall when you lift the motor. Either way it is still a tight fit to clear the oil pump and screen with the pan. You would get the most clearance by removing the front axle.
Sandwiched between the head(s) and the block.
On all engines the head gasket is located between the head[s] and the top surface of the engine block.
NO. You should NEVER use any type of sealant on the transmission pan.
there is no transmission pan on the 1993 accord it has a sealed case
It looks like water in the oil which is a blown head gasket. Check to see if the radiator needs water. Buy head sealer additive, change the oil and filter with the additive. This should seal the head gasket. This works most of the time.
Blown head gasket, cracked hed or cracked block
It is the knock sensor. It retards the timing if the engine pings or rattels.
You'll need to disconnect the motor mounts, probably pull the radiator hoses then jack the engine up. It would be best to use an engine lift from the top. You'll need to lift the engine 4 to 6 inches so that you can pull the old pan and replace the new one. Make sure you use gasket sealer on the replacment pan to hold the new gasket into place. Use an adhesive gasket material that will hold it in place while you position the pan.
The book shows your 1993 Silverado is rated at 210 hp.
no
drain the oil form the drain plug on the pan, then unbolt the pan, and change the gasket. Rebolt the pan and refill the oil. Good luck
you will need to drop the transmission pan to gain access to the filter. the pan has about 24 bolts on the bottom of the pan. once the pan is removed you will see the filter make sure you get the correct one and you will need a new pan gasket also
