For most GM vehicles, you should be able to remove the housing over the third brakelight usually by just pulling it down. Then you can get to the back of the bulb assembly and twist the individual sockets to pull them out. (Usually a 1/4 turn counterclockwise.)
Above post in inccorect. On 2002-current trailblazers, these are sealed units that must be replaced as a whole. 2002-2003 are Neon tubes @ $190 each, and 2004-current are LED's and around $125.00. They DO NOT include lubricant :)
Remove the wiring harness from the third brake light. Remove the third brake light retaining screws. The entire unit will need to be replaced. The unit is sealed and the lightbulb cannot be replaced.
Very easy. As your looking at the tail light from a top view. There will be a screw/bolt. Depending on which tail light you're replacing it will be toward the plate/ the middle. Unscrew that. Then on the inside of your truck pull back the truck cover. The plactic screw that holds in place your side mat is the same that holds your tail light. Unscrew that and you're good to go. In my manual it will tell you (1993 Plymouth acclaim)crasp firmly both sides of center brake light housing and pull straight out,turn the bulb,pull it out,replace bulb(check bulb number)had to give it a pretty good tug,but that's it.
Open the trunk and look on the panel beneath the brake light and you will see the socket. Twist and pull it down. Replace the bulb with the exact as you take out.
back of the headlamp where back of bulb is, has a round plastic clip. u turn it, then pull bulb out. passenger side, u pull the battery out, then repeat above.

you will probably have to loosen the complete light assembly so you can get you hand in back of the light to change the bulbs, once you can get to them unplug the wires to the bulb and then either pull or twist the bulb out.
