To completely delete messages, you have to delete them one at a time in the archives. There is a site called fbsweeper that will delete them for you all at once. It is much easier than doing it on facebook.

∙ 14y agoFor sent messages in your inbox, check the right portion of the message and there should be a drop down menu of sorts where you should be able to choose "delete messages".
