cable is held in by an internal spring tension and is self adjusting,

so, to fit a new one, hold in the clutch arm with something, CAREFUL it takes a lot of force, or, have someone else depress the peddle while you brace the arm in, release the peddle and the engine end of the cable can then be pulled sideways out of a notch, then without the tension, the other end, peddle lever, can also be pulled sideways out of a notch.

reverse to refit and the cable will readjust, takes about 5 min with practice and a reliable method to hold the arm in.

you can adjust the clutch cable as it is a hydraulic clutch, only option is to change the clutch if it is worn or slipping.

The 1986 Honda Prelude does not have a clutch cable. The 1986 Prelude has a hydraulic clutch instead of the clutch cable.

Well cable could be froze up. Replace the clutch cable. If cable is working adjust cable. If the clutch cable is adjusted then it's time for a new clutch
