dont!! just use cool clear garden hose water. then replace with coolant mix.
Thereis a thumb-nut on the engine side, lower rightside ( when standing in front of the car facing the engine) Stuff will get everywhere
Really? No one had a problem with the above being passed off as an answer? Please. Keep your opinions to yourself children. 1. If you wish to flush your radiator and cooling system, familiarize yourself with your vehicle by asking a mechanic or two, and getting a repair manual, such as a Haynes manual. 2. If you have any doubt in your confidence to approach the problem on your own, you should take your vehicle to a licensed repair shop for the flush, most oil change shops offer this service 3. Please disregard the "answer" about hose water. First, unless your homes pipes are completely screwed, the water from a garden hose should always be clear. Two, the real issue the man child who originally posted neglected to mention is that "clear hose water" typically has dissolved solids that are invisible such as calcium (the white scum on your shower head nozzle, that is, if you shower) and you do not want these minerals to form deposits in your cooling system. So.... Every guide says to - - USE DISTILLED WATER ONLY!- That and most flush kits feature complete directions. - this post helpfully edited by a concerned internet citizen who is sick to death of low double digit IQs, opinionated 12 going on 40 year olds, and mentally incapable, inexcusable wastes of oxygen found online these days, spewing out useless opinion, drivel, and crap. Ignore these people and let evolution do its job to clean up our gene pool, please. Have a nice day.
The flush valve for the radiator on a 1999 Buick Century is located on the bottom of the radiator near the vehicle's frame. When it is loosened, the coolant will slowly drain from the vehicle.
total coolant capacity of 3.8L buick regal custom? doing a radiator flush so i need to know how much coolant to buy
The radiator on a 98 Buick Century is flushed by turning the petcock to drain the coolant. Water is then flushed through the system until all contaminants are removed.
To actually "flush" the coolant in this vehicle you will need a flush machine. To do that we did at the dealership, drain the radiator (you need a 1/4 inch ratchet and 1 inch extension) then use a vacuum fill too to fill with new coolant.
dex - cool orange coolant ,any coolant flush
There are flush-and-fill kits that Prestone makes. It might be more efficient to have it done professionally. I think the cap used on the coolant tank acts as the radiator cap since it mentions the pounds of pressure on the label.
One flushes a radiator by draining the radiator, rincing the radiator, and then by adding a new coolant. One should remember that the drained coolant is toxic.
The radiator on a 1995 Saturn is flushed by draining the coolant, refilling the engine with water, and adding a flush. It is allowed to circulate and drain before refilling with coolant.
verrrrry carefuly!!
Get a flush kit at auto parts comes with adapters and instructions
Rust, It is time for a coolant flush.
It would be best to disconnect the coolant lines and flush the core after the radiator flush. This will clear any sediment from the core.
