To remove the panel across the dash that covers the radio, the air deflectors must also be turned to one side and gently pushed down on with a flat tip at the top and pulled out. Get the flat tip right next to the pin to depress the tab. There are four additional screws behind them and failing to remove them will break the deflector holders loose from the panel and create a nice rattle! Voice of experience speaking.

First pry off the wood trim panels that run the length of the dash (there are two pieces, one each side of the steering column). After you have exposed the dash below the wood paneling, you'll see 4 or 5 hex-head screws holding the entire dash paneling that surrounds the cluster, steering column, air bag, and each vent (it's one whole piece). Before attempting to remove, lower your steering wheel as fair as possible in order to slide the panel over the cuff around the steering column, as well as the gear shift (put it all the way down into 1st), which requires you have your key handy to put the ignition into ACC. This will give you more room to get the panel off. Once this is done, there are 3 more hex-head screws holding the radio in place. Remove. Remember to get the proper mounting bracket for your new stereo. *** Also, be mindful of the depth of the new radio. You'll see a metal brace of some sort that cannot be moved at the rear of the radio compartment. In order to add any new lines, it's best to drill out some of the fiberglass on the bottom of the compartment to run a remote line and/or RCA cables.

Since '98 is pretty much the same as '95, this should be about the same. First, you'll need to remove the wood trim from the dash. It is held in by a series of clips, so it's just a matter of carefully popping the trim out. Once the wood trim pieces are removed, next you'll remove the vents from the black trim of the dash. Turn them all the way to one side and pull as best as you can. They will pop out (although you might need a screwdriver to wedge in behind if they don't come right out). Removing the wood trim and vents will reveal approximately 10 (don't recall the exact #) torx head screws. Remove those, and then you can remove the black dash panel (you might need to shift the car into neutral to get the panel out). Then, the radio will be exposed. Remove the two remaining screws and then the radio. The plugs clip in and can be stiff to remove. From there, connect your new radio (if it's factory, just plug it in) and then reassemble the dash.

I am trying to figure it out myself. The basics are that the dashboard has to come off. Then the screws holding it in should be visible. There also will be a strap under the dash holding up the back end. The wiring harness will also have to be unplugged.

i recently removed my radio in my 97 Buick century. you have to start from the bottom up. there are a few screws under the glove box that need to be removed and under the steering wheel. there is a part of the dash that stretches the whole width of the car. this is the last part you will need to remove. it is held in by clips so you really need to be fearless and yank the whole thing off. note, before pulling you will need to lower your steering wheel and possibly but the car in 1st gear to get the handle out of the way but dont forget to put the parking break on

1) Extract 1 screw from bottom lower dash panel at right of glove box.

2) Open glove box and pop out small lower dash panel along the right side.

3) Carefully pop out fuse box cover at right side of dash and extract 1 screw from the dash bezel at the right of the air vent.

4) Extract 2 screws at the bottom of the lower ashtray/lighter dash section, pop out and remove.

5) Extract 1 screw from the right driver's side lower dash panel and one panel popper from the left side.

6) Carefully pop out the driver's side lower dash panel and remove.

7) Put the vehicle into first or low gear and tilt the steering column adjustment all the way down and pull outward near the bottom on the complete dash panel to unsnap and remove panel.

8) Extract 3 7MM screws holding radio, unplug connector, antenna cable and remove radio.

Compatible dash kit: Scoshe GM1583B / GM1583

Wiring Harness: Scosche GM03B / GM03 or American International GWH-346

Antenna Adapter: Scosche MDA1B / MDA1 or American International GM-6

You have to take the panel off that is is in front of the radio first. This may be the most time consuming part of the job. Then you will see screws on the left and right of the radio. Remove these and pull the radio straight out. Very simple.

Alright, i took my dash apart today (97 lesabre), and all i needed was a Philips and a flathead screwdriver. the fake wood pops right off, and under it is a few screws (mine had three, yours might be different) next i took the flathead screwdriver and popped the vents out carefully. behind each vent is another screw. then you can carefully pry the whole plastic piece back (it has a few more clips that can be popped off with a screwdriver, or just by pulling carefully). now your radio is exposed and you can take off the remaining screws and pull it out.

that takes care of removal, but for an aftermarket radio, you will need an adapter (can be found at http://www.myinstallkit.com/ ) then you can do the rest

There should be clipped on to the dash or either bolted on which is easy just take the screws off and should just clip off. I did it with my 94 which wasn't too hard but don't pull to hard because of the airbag cover will bend and it wont go back..

Remove the trim piece covering the instrument cluster. Remove the trim piece covering the map light and rear window defogger switches. Remove the two bolts holding in the radio and slide it out. Disconnect the wiring harness and antenna lead at the back. The new radio may need a wiring adapter.
