Steps to remove the dome lightTools neededSmall flat head screwdriver

Small Phillips head screwdriver

Steps
  • Insert the flathead screwdriver into the slot and gently remove the plastic cover. (It just pops off)
  • Using the Phillips screwdriver remove the two screws
  • Remove the wires that lead to the switches and bulbs
  • Remove the housing (you should be to the the trim)
  • Remove the screws to the housing (you should be able to see the roof)
  • Reverse the process to put it back together

There should be a SWITCH at the dome light! If not, remove the fuse from the fuse box above where your gas pedal is. OR: Simply remove the BULB from the dome light. duncanw.

If you need to replace your dome light switch you will need to remove the cover first. You can use your fingernails or even a small knife to get the cover off.

I own a ford explorer. Just play with the dimmer "wheel" until it turns off (with doors closed). If that doesn't work, turn the vehicle on then off a couple times. That does it for mine

Use a small screw driver or somthing that you can use to pry of the lense. Once you have done that you can change the light.

The power windows are on a separate fuse from the CD Player or Dome light. The Power Windows are fuse # 61 or 62 (it is actually a circut breaker). Not sure which fuse runs the Dome light or CD player. The full fuse diagram is found in your owner's manual.

You have a switch on the dash that can operate the dome light when the doors are shut. Perhaps the switch is in the on position.
