first , remove the wheel . then unwrap the cotter pin on each of the old ball joint nuts and remove the nuts . hammer upward or downward on the top and bottom (respectively) ball joint shaft to remove them from the steering knuckle . then remove the circlip from each ball joint using ring-opening pliers . finally , use a ball joint press to remove the ball joints from the upper and lower control arms . install the new parts where the old parts were .

So, to all those with CV joint questions, Any year, any vehicle, any make,...... it is easier and usually cheaper to replace the whole axle. As to the question of how to replace, buy a good repair manual with pictures. The procedure would take as long to type as it takes to do it.

Remove the wiring harness from your 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis ignition coil. Remove the ignition coil retaining screws. Reverse the process to install your new ignition coil.
