It's never recommended to work on the airbag system unless you are a qualified technician, but if you want to disable the airbag, remove the module and unplug it, then reinstall the module.
However, be aware that the airbag will not inflate in case of an accident, and you must notify any subsequent owners of this issue.
Our 1999 Ford Windstar Van starts fine but when we shut it off it will not start back up til it has sit for 30 minutes! HELP
On a 1999 Ford Windstar, the headlights might come on when the car is shut off because of a mechanism that allows for a courtesy light. The headlights come on for a few seconds to allow time for the driver to enter a building.
All headlight bulbs must all be grounded and working.
For a 2003 Ford Windstar : The fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is located ( behind the service panel cover on the passenger side of the cargo area )
Behind the trim panel by the drivers left foot
On a 1998 Ford Windstar : The fuel pump inertia switch ( shut off switch ) is located in the drivers footwell behind the kick panel ( there is an access hole ) * it's near the inside hood release *
