There is no easy way or special way to do it. You just have to tell him. He probably isn't going to like it any better if you sugar coat it or make it "sound" better because not matter how you say it, it is what it is. You will just have to tell him. Just don't be rude or mean about it. And don't get mad or defensive if he acts upset. Because he probably is going to be upset. You just need to realize that and make sure that you are ready to tell him and hear what he has to say.
