There is a button on the top, to the left of your iPod. It should look like it can slide. Slide it to the left! but if u have an ipod touch, THERE IS A BOTTON THAT SAYS "SLIDE TO UNLOCK" so if u cant figure that out....wow.
"how do iI unlock a ipod that was locked"
I don't exactly understand this answer, so for the rest of us here's a simple answer. To unlock an iPod, all you have to do is check the slider at the top that says hold. There could be complications to this if there is a combination for the iPod.
To unlock your ipod touch you will have to turn it on then when you see your background slide the little slider at the bottom of the screen, or click the home button (under the screen) or click the sleep button (at the top of the ipod) then slide the slider.
Hope this helped :)
Press and hold the button on the top right of your iPod. The screen should light up, and say slide to unlock, then you slide the bar across the screen and it should unlock.
I did that too. keep pressing buttons and in a few minutes you'll be fine. dont get too agrivated with it. if that doesnt work, go onto the apple site asnd you may be able to find an answer.
There Is a small black button on the top of the iPod. If you press that something should come up on the screen that says "slide to unlock"
If you slide it... It should unlock!
You have to go to a phone shop that is near you and tell them what happen , they will then unlock your iPod touch by the next day
you restore the iPod. It will erase all of the data on it, but you'll be able to get into it. get on yoiutube and type in How to Restore Your iPod? then it'll come up.

When you unlock a passcode that has been forgotten on your iPod Touch, all of your songs will unfortanetly be deleted, and you will have to put all of them back on. But if you are CHANGING your passcode, off of the settings button on your iPod Touch, nothing will happen to your current memory.
restoring the ipod to factory condition, loosing everything
to unlock it just plug it into your computer
you go to ipod menu then settings then into General then Passcode Lock
