How is movie acting today different from movie acting in the 1930's through the 1960s?

In the 1930s most movies were silent, and were in a low quality black and white film set. Not only that but in the 1930s many more feature films were released yearly comparatively to now, with an average of around 800 movies a year in the 30s to having less than 500 today.

∙ 12y agoIn the beginning of the studio system studios held a monopoly on the production and distribution of movies and cranked out upwards of 1200 films a year that were low budget, often silent films. In the early 1960s the U.S. government changed the laws on the studio system and restricted studios from owning the entire process (production, distribution). This caused studios to rethink they're strategies and work to create better, more profitable films.
