It was discovered by Sir Humphrey Davy

ACTUALLY .... it was discovered by Carl Scheele in 1774 but not extracted until 1808 because Barium is a coumpound of other elements when Mr. Scheele discovered it .. it wasn totally pure until Mr. Davy extracted it from the other compounds to make it a pure element!
