Pony boy is brothers with Darrel Curtis, and Sodapop Curtis. Pony boy is friends wtih Johnny Cade who is the humour of the greasers gang And Steve is Sodapops best friend and Without out Johnny Dally would be DEAD!Ponyboy: Ponyboy is a young _ year old boy. He doesn't think that he is tough, but he doesn't think he is bad looking. He has light-brown, almost red hair, and greenish-gray eyes (though he wishes that they where more gray). His hair is longer than most boys his age, his hair is squared off at the back and long at the front and sides. He is a greaser, and is in a gang with his two brothers, Darry (Darrel) and Sodapop. He has a pretty high IQ and has skipped a grade.

Darry: Darry's real name is Darrel but everybody calls him Darry. He is six foot two. He thinks that life is enough without inspecting others. His parents died in a car accident and left Darry as the head of the house. He has to support the family somehow, so he works as a roofer. He is never content with what Ponyboy has. If Ponyboy brings home B's Darry wants A's. If he brings A's, he wants him to keep bringing A's. Sodapop is the only person who can make Darry Grin.

Sodapop:Sodapop never gets drunk. He is drunk on life. He has failed a grade (or more than 1?) but he still goes to school just for fun sometimes. Unlike Darry, and others Soda tries to understand Ponyboy. Sodapop is his real name, its what his dad named him. He is not afraid to joke around with Darry. Sodapop works at a gas station with Steve Randle, his best friend.

Steve: Is very brave, cocky and smart, he was tall and lean. Steve is 17, and his last name is Randle. He has thick he kept combed in complicated swirls greasy hair He once held off 4 socs with a busted bottle. Steve was really good with cars. He could drive anything on wheels. Ponyboy only liked him because he was Sodapop's friend.

Johnny: Johnny's last name is Cade. When Johnny was 16, he got jumped by 4 socs. It took a lot to make Johnny cry, because he gets beat by his parents at home. But, when they found Johnny, he was all cut up, bruised and half conscious. He was crying. From that day forward, he had never been the same. He is more like the gangs pet then a member now...

Dallas: His name is Dallas Winston, but he likes to be called Dally. He came from New-York. He blew off steam in gang fights. But here, nobody ever wins, you can't just beat the socs. Maybe that's why Dally was so bitter. He has an elfish face with high cheekbones and a sharp chin. With, small pointed teeth like animal. His hair was so blond, it was almost white. Dally had quite a reputation and liked to do every the illegal way, even if it was cheap/easy.

Keith (Two-bit Mathews): Everybody calls him two-bit, two-bit Mathews .He is the oldest in the gang, and the wisecracker of the bunch. He was about 6 feet tall, stocky in build, and very proud of his long rusty colored side burns. He had gray eyes and a wide grin, and he couldn't stop making funny remarks to save his life. You couldn't shut up that guy to save his life, he always had to get his two-bit worth in . Hence his name. Life was once big job to Keith.

because ponyboy, soda pop and darry's parents died, they had to become closer in order to stay together. as for the rest of the boys, the "gang" is like a family to them because they all have family issues, like johnny, who hates his parents.
