What recreation in the southern colonies?
There was a great amount of activity in the Southern Colonies. Children bobbed for apples, played hide and seek, jump rope, marbles, corn shuck contests, quilt making, and doll making. Adults did mostly the same except dancing was an important part of recreation. The Southern Colonies were much like the Middle Colonies. ;-) hope that was helpful(-;

How did geography affect the economies of the three colonial regions?
In the northern colonies, it was rocky and there were lots of forests, so they made lumber, built ships, had more busy cities, and had good fishing. In the southern colonies, there was fertile soil and a hotter climate, which was good for growing cash crops. Also, it was mostly rural. In the middle colonies, there was a large variety of land, which was good for growing tobacco and indigo. They were mostly farmers, but fishing, lumber, and shipbuilding were also common. These colonies were a cross between the north and south. Just did this for 7th grade social studies hw... hope its helpful!

Why did England station British soldiers in the colonies?
England stationed British soldiers in the colonies because there was much rebellion and a growing tension in the colonies over British taxes(Stamp Act, Tea Act, Sugar Act, Townshed acts) . Britan wanted to make sure that the colonies remanied under control and they did not want a rebellion to start. The soldiers stationed there were called 'lobsterbacks' by the patriots (colonists who disagreed with taxes and wanted freedom from Britan). This was not that helpful by having the soldiers there-it reminded people that they were controlled and taxed by Britan and urged them to rebel. Soldiers from Britan were teased by patriots and this teasing lead to the first act of rebellion-the Boston Massacre. -roundrupert
