Life in the US during WW2, was better than the rest of world; the US had no bombings, such as happened to Germany, Britain, Russia, China, and Japan. And had little to no want of food, clothing and shelter; although there was a nation wide depression going on at the time. President FDR did have programs set in motion to deal with unemployment...FAR BETTER than any other countries existing at the time.
