Womans rights were equal to those of (Northern) Irish men at the time. Depending on there religion in comparision to men of the same religion. Please reframe from gettin confused that the civil rights marchs in Derry(L'Derry/Londonderry/Doire) were for basic human rights for woman but for the right to vote for both sexes of the catholic following (prodominantly nationlist - wanting a united Ireland free of british intervention). The civil rights marchs were for equal job opportunities as other religions within the state aswell(for the Catholic Community). Although on the whole Catholic Woman had very little rights to part take in their countries future or decision making at the time; theirs rights were no less that Catholic Men. Protestant Women mostly seen complete rights in line with the rest of the U.K, The Right to vote, the right to job's and the right to a future ( but not all achieved this also) Northern Irelands Situation is a complicated situation for the outsider to try and understand. Loses have been severe in both sides of the divid and Rights have been taken away equally in both denominations. If you would like to find out more simply type "Northern Ireland Troubles" into any search engine. I'm sorry if I've offended in anyway; any reader. Feel free to correct my mistakes.
