The immigrants were treated horribly. They were made slaves most of the time. Another thing that they had happen to them was that they had to leave relatives, children etc. behind. It wasn't a very nice life...

∙ 9y agoImmigrants in the late 1800s were often not treated very well. Many were made to work long, hard hours in exchange for minimal pay, but they continued to come to America because it promised a brighter future for them than their homelands.
